Cuchullin Dor Dortal
Neflite Dor Electra
Brono Dor Deksiil
"Master" Frite Dor Fenixa
Cuchullin was another of the PC (player characters.) He was a devil hunter from the jungle planet of Dortal. Cuchullin had shaggy black hair and green eyes. He was immensely strong (he could bench 3000 pounds) but was not your genius incarnate. Cuchullin was also very superstitious. He was part of a small family of Devil Hunters who lived on Dortal. He was trained in the arts of Devil Hunting by his grandmother, who was also a powerful hunter. Apparently his entire family were devil hunters, as his sister Yohko was also one. Cuchulin was also one
of the Esper-Warriors, a group dedicated to the god Wartonius. When he heard of the tournament, Cuchullin departed Dortal immeidiately without even telling Yohko. In Battle, Cuchullin's massive form could be seen weilding a giant battle-ax called Demon-Render. Cuchullin was consumate race.
Neflite was the third and final PC (player character) for this adventure. Neflite was an Electran travelling warrior who was a master using the Vitex Blade, the most powerful weapon in Spherus. Vitex blades combine cold admorite with electricity to form a truly shocking weapon. Neflite was a wanderer who had travelled the galaxy searching for tournaments and such to join. He had blond hair, I think. He wore Zelzakian armor. Neflite was also a master of Psi-Xaquel, which simply put, is the magic of Spherus. At the tournament, Neflite seemed rather withdrawn
and grim, not really mixing with the others too much. Still, despite his dark demeanor, he had the heart of a hero.
The Other Fighters..NPC's (Non player characters)
Brono was a consumate race fighter created and played by the GM. Even though he was rather weak, I still thought Brono was cool (Another PC did too..). He had the basic video-game boxer-like guy look. A buzz cut, a sleeveless shirt and some bulging muscles. Brono was the best Prize-Fighter on Deksiil, and so attracted the attention of the tournament masters. (See *Tournament Masters) Brono had an apelike appearence and demeanor and acted very brutish. He was a master of Street Brawl, another form of close combat. Throughout the adventure, he seemed to grow more and
more sinister as he hung out with Frite (See *Frite) and Roccooo Dillon (See *Roccooo Dillon).
Master Frite was mentioned in my background (See *Inferno). He was Inferno's trainer at a biker training school. He worked for the Ruby Pheonix, one of the larger gangs of Fenixa. Frite had been training futur bikers in the Art, when he noticed an exceptional student who soon outstripped him. Frite was very angry, and became angrier still when he learned that Inferno did not plan to join the ruby Pheonix. Since last the two met, Frite had been training for their inevitable meeting, and so when he was invited to the tournament, he accepted quickly. Frite had long red
spiked hair that was pulled back (Sort of like Raditz in Dragon Ball Z, but a bit shorter) Frite customarily wore a red Ruby Pheonix biker jacket with the symbol emblazoned on the back. Personality wise, Frite was almost exactly like Inferno but a bit more insidious and conniving.
Paulonos Dor Electra
Zayeljiin Dor Zelzakia
Roccooo Dillon Dor Terroria
Illawyn Dor Electra
Tearos Dor Armoria
Eshainin Dor Lorac
Paulonos was a warrior from Electra who used Thunderblades, the Spherusian equivalent of Light Sabres. This guy sucked. Out of everyone in this adventure, or in any adventure, I think I hated him the most (aside from possibly Jenine. See *Super Adventure 3 and *Jenine) I know the other players and even the GM didn't like him. Paulonos had ordinary blond hair, blue eyes and a typical build. He wasn't all that bad with his blades, but I just found him annoying. He would spend the whole time following Illawyn (See *Illawyn) around, and other than that did pretty much
nothing. I don't know how Paulonos got selected for the Tournament, but I'm sure the money and Illawyn made him jump at the chance. I shouldn't blame the guy, but I do anyways.
Zayeljiin was a Zelzakian super warrior whith exceptional abilities. Like all Zelzakians, he was a powerful warrior who had trained to fight all of his life. Zayeljiin had been a Zelzakian Soldier in the old armies of Zelzakia, which had been destroyed over 100 000 years before the tournament. This meant that Zayeljiin had been training and living for a VERY long time. That's probably why he was so powerful. Anyways, once the Empire was crushed, Zayeljiin travelled the galaxy looking for ways to test his strength. Ceremony or comfort means nothing to him. The fight is
everything. Zayeljiin had spiky black hair, a strong build and wore a pair of rather patched up Zelzakian armor. (Big surprise!) His eyes seemed to be burning with a madness of some kind, as if his need to fight burned through him. I thought Zayeljiin was pretty cool. Personality wise, he seemed very withdrawn and only cared about the fighting itself.
Roccooo Dillon was a great character. Originally, his name was just supposed to be Rocco Dillon, but for some reason we changed it to Roccooo Dillon. Roccooo Dillon was a Terrorian criminal (like all Terrorians) who was strong enough to have been selected for the tournament. Roccooo had greasy black hair, and his deformity (I guess) were the giant pockmarks on his face. Roccooo typically wore a white shirt and dark pants. He was sinister and shady in that adventure, but later on he turned into a "good guy". Roccooo Dillon was a friend of Frite's and Brono (See *Frite and *Brono)
at the tournament. Roccooo was a cunning fighter, capable of using any tactics to get his ultimate goal. (In this case winning the tournament.) Roccooo Dillon was a great character who could always add a laugh to any situation.
Illawyn was another Electran warrior, but also the only female invited to the tournament. She had shoulder-length pink hair, which was her trademark. Illawyn was a powerful warrior (far better than Paulonos) who had been invited because of her skills in the Art. She always wore a long dress, which must have really indibited her combat stance. Because she was the only female at the tournament, she developed quite a large following. Paulonos, of course, followed her wherever she went. Even Neflite sometimes tried to make a pass at her. Inferno sort of tried, but not too hard as
he was still trying to convince everyone how great he was. Illawyn tended to be friendly and socieable. (See *Paulonos)
Tearos was a noble warrior from Armoria. Naturally, he was much like the steriotypical Armorian is supposed to be. He wore pure white Armorian armor in combat. He also looked like a typical Armorian, with long blond hair and noble handsome features. What truly set him apart from the other Armorians were his awesome combat abilities. Tearos was without doubt the most powerful warrior from Armoria. He acted very zealous about justice and light and such things. I don't think he liked Inferno at all. Tearos was very confident in his abilities, a confidence that bordered on arrogance.
Tearos was actually a pretty cool character. He sensed the evil in this tournament and came to smite it. He was neither expecting, nor ready, for what he found...
Eshainin was a powerful fighter from the planet of Lorac. He had fairly dark skin, dark combed hair and a constant smug expression on his face. Eshainin wore plain black clothing most of the time. In battle, he weilded a Battle Scythe with deadly skill. Eshainin was a socieable character who would talk to anybody, but when you were talking to him, it seemed like he knew more than you. He was always smug and cooly confident, but was still nonetheless polite to the other contenders. Even in the face of disaster, Eshainin kept up a confident and smug facade. Even when asked, Eshainin
could sidestep any question not allowing you to learn anything truly about himself. Eshainin tended to stay closer to the Heroes then Lord Pain (See *Lord Pain). Eshainin's true power was in high debate at the beginning of the adventure.
Lord Pain Dor Sphere
Lord Krodaine Dor Deksiil
Lady Morelaine Dor Deksiil
Lanktin Dor Deksiil
Captain Throsh Dor Deksiil
Yohko Dor Dortal
Shaigran Dor Deksiil
The Dancing Girl
Lord Pain was just a cool Character! He had a great name, and a darn great personality! Anyways, Lord Pain was an old Warlord from the planet of Sphere. At the tournament, he had a black mask wrapped around his face (as is the Warlord custom). Pain had fairly short spiked hair pushed back. His eyes were glowing red orbs of hatred and power. In battle, Pain used a Cyber-Spear, which is a type of Spear that can extend or shorten at the push of a button. Pain had obviously come to the tournament believing he was sure to win. As a Warlord, he didn't believe that any of us had a chance
against him. Indeed, Pain was a supremely powerful warrior. He was also very aloof from the other Fighters. As I said before, the fact that he was a Warlord made him think that we were not fit to be in his presence. Even when talked to, Pain would say almost nothing and attempted to distance himself from the others as much as he could.
The Tournament Masters...
Lord Krodaine was the master of this tournament. He had shoulder-length grey hair, a lined aged face and wore expensively made robes of silk. Krodaine's reputation was unknown to any at the tournament. None of us fighters had ever heard of Krodaine or his prowess before. Krodaine gave no sign of strength, but also none to the contrary. Very mysterious, Krodaine never really spoke to us aside from the beginning of the tournament.
Lady Morelaine was the mysterious Lord Krodaine's wife. She never spoke to any of us. She had silvery hair, a hard face and wore robes of varying color. She constantly sat beside Lord Krodaine on the raised platform where they watched the battles. No one had heard of her prior to this either.
Lanktin was a mysterious associate of Lord Krodaine's. He was the one who visited everyone and told them they were invited to the tournament. He had plain black hair, wore regular clothes but his gaze was like that of a predator watching its prey anxiously. As the tournament began, Lanktin always stood in the shadows behind Krodaine on their raised platform. We all thought Lanktin had some combat power and was not as weak as he seemed. Indeed, Lanktin summoned everyone to the tournament in a very secretive fashion. He spoke quietly, but with an unexpected air of confidence, considering he
was addressing the most powerful warriors in the universe.
Captain Throsh was the captain of the guards at the tournament. There were about five guards at the tournament, each armed with plasma guns. Throsh wore the standard guard uniform, which consisted of a black uniform and a black beret. Throsh had a small mustache and a broad face. He was no weakling himself, although not on par with any of us tournament fighters. Throsh tended to be blunt and quiet. He never wasted any words, and was not all that polite either.
Other Important Characters
Yohko was exactly like Devil Hunter Yohko in the anime (for any who have seen that.) She was devil hunter Cuchullin's sister and was also a devil hunter trained by her grandmother. She had brown hair, in a way that just looked weird. She used a blade-hammer, which is a massive five-foot long sword. She had lived on Dortal with her brother hunting devils until Cuchullin simply left one day and never came home. After that, she followed him to Deksiil. Yohko was a powerful warrior herself, but still not as powerful as the competitors. In terms of personality, she always acted indignant about the
fact that everyone looked down on her because of her age. She was rather reckless and hot-headed, which is why Cuchullin sometimes had to tie her up!
Shaigran wasn't a very important character in this adventure, as only Neflite actually met him. But even so, his information added to what we had already discovered proved invaluable. Shaigran was the owner of a big budget casino that was near the tournament grounds. Or so it seemed. He was actually an agent for the Deksiil police and had been investigating the tournament. It turns out that the winners of the Tournament never emerge from the arena...
Now we're really getting to the basics. This character didn't even have a name! Anyways, The Dancing Girl worked at Shaigran's casino and was the one who conveyed Neflite to him. Neflite seemed to have been afraid of the dancing girl for some reason, but I can't remember why.
Inferno > Josef = Lord Krodaine > Lord Pain > Master Frite > Neflite > Eshainin = Tearos > Cuchullin = Zayeljiin > Roccooo Dillon > Illawyn = Lanktin > Brono > Yohko > Paulonos = Throsh > Morelaine = Shaigran = The Dancing Girl
Judging from the character of Inferno, there was no way to refuse. Inferno naturally thought he would win, as he said to Lanktin at some length. He was also, however, suspicious of this Lanktin. He suspected something was fishy there, and that Lanktin was no weakling himself. (See *Inferno's Power Chart) Anyways, Lanktin told Inferno to meet at an abandonned parking lot on the outskirts of Tirin propre, at about noon on the following day. From there, Lanktin promised to take him and some select others to the secret tournament arena which was hidden for privacy reasons. And then Lanktin left, without a word of farewell, leaving Inferno to ponder his words. (And me too, since that was it for background, and the adventure didn't begin until the next day..) Anyways, the other PC's were visited in the same way by the mysterious Lanktin. And now, we jump to the next day, noon, at an abandonned parking lot...
The remarks Inferno made at that point were classic. In about one minute, he managed to not only tick off the other characters with his superior atttitude, but to practically convince them he would win. After the warriors had made "small talk", they abruptly noticed Lanktin standing behind them with a half smile on his face. He quickly led them into the telephone booth, which turned out to be a secret elevator. Once they were down in the tournament complex, Lanktin excused himself. From there, Captain Throsh and a couple of his guards led the three to the arena where Lord Krodaine made his speech. Already waiting in the arena were all the other warriors. Krodaine waited in a raised embrassure in the wall, surronded by guards and his wife. Behind him, in the shadows of the box, stood Lanktin.
Krodaine told them how they would be allowed to go to the surface if they were accompanied by a guard and etc. As everyone stood silently taking this in, Inferno stepped up and said "What are the prizes for this tournament, anyways?" Everyone turned to look at him in shock. Lord Krodaine had no choice but to reply. A few moments later, we were taken to our rooms. We were also shown the other facilities which consisted of the Rec Room/Bar and the Lawrence Goulet restaurant. After that, we were left in peace to do as we would until the first fight, which was Tearos against Brono. At this point we all simply went to our rooms to settle in, where we all checked our handy computers to find out the fight schedule (VERY CONVENIENT!). After that, the first fight began. We all filed onto the benches in the side of the wall where Inferno prepared to critisize the fight to anyone who would listen. Tearos and Brono prepared, and at Krodain's command, Leaped at each other...
After this, Frite was crushed and headed straight for the bar and strong drinks. Inferno, meanwhile, also returned to the bar with the others where a little training session was proposed. Cuchullin, Inferno and Neflite all entered the training ground and did a little sparring. Cuchullin was pretty much outmatched, but to Inferno's amazement, Neflite managed to overcome him. Inferno admitted afterwards to Neflite "You're definetly the best person here, next to me of course." The two became sort of friends. Meanwhile, Cuchullin went to his room to practice by breaking furniture. The others gathered in their habitual groups.
The Preppies-This group consisted of Illawyn, Paulonos and usually Neflite. They were all electrans, and sort of aristocratic, so I guess it sorta made sense. Illawyn was clearly the leader of this group, as they would follow wherever she went...
The "criminals"-I won't say that these people were ALL criminels, but they were kinda shady. This group consisted of Roccooo Dillon, who of course attempted to aid Frite in his battle (See *The Fights Begin), Frite and Brono. Roccoo was definetly the one in charge..
The Mysterious "evil" guys-It's not fair to say these were ALL evil guys, but as I stated before, they were all just generally darkly mysterious. These people didn't really group together, but they did the same sort of things. Lord Pain, Eshainin and Zayeljiin were all part of this group.
One Man Groups-There were some people who were simply their own group. They sometimes talked to the other groups, but they were never really a part of them. These people were Inferno, Cuchullin and Tearos.
The Habitual Groups Of The Fighters
It occurs to me that I have not yet mentioned the habitual groups. Well then, I'll do so now...
Soon, he found the other two who were talking to the Dancing Girl who said she was to bring them to Shaigran. It was at this moment that Neflite devlopped his completely irrational fear of The Dancing Girl. Anyways, Shaigran told them the important information (See *Shaigran) and then we all returned to the arena for the next fight...
We were all very surprised by this upset, and began to have suspicions that Eshainin was in fact the Devil. Soon after, it was evening and we were all in the bar for our evening drinks, with two major changes. Eshainin was curiously absent, and Lord Pain had for the first time joined us. He had his mask off, and one of our players thought he was seriously contemplating suicide. He then revealed a dark truth. He thought that Eshainin had LET the galaxia hit him. This merely reinforced our opinion of him being a devil. But by this point, it had gotten quite late (in both game and real time) and so the conversations became much briefer (also cuz' I'm running out of space!) Soon, we were all asleep. The next morning, we were ready for the next fight. It was Cuchullin VS Zayeljiin.
We all thought the massive Cuchullin might be able to overcome the powerful Zayeljiin, but Inferno wasn't so sure. And so it began. The two fighters seemed exactly equal, and were leaping at each other to deliver the final blows, when suddenly the lights went out. There was great confusion until the emergancy lighting came on. Krodaine determined that the battle was a tie and that both warriors would advance. He then said that someone would be determined randomly to skip the next round. That person, we discovered later, was Eshainin (the devil). And when the power came back on, the next fight was announced. Illawyn VS ROCCOOO DILLON! As we prepared to watch, everyone thought the shady Dillon would overcome Illawyn (See *Inferno's Power Chart). Still, everyone was routing for her. As the fight began, it seemed Roccooo had the upper hand, but to my (not Inferno's) disapointement, Illawyn overcame him.
