I realise that A&W recently changed their slogan to something else, which I can't remember 'cause it's so lame compared to 'See the Bear'. Those fools! Although in the first place, I'm not quite sure why they had 'See the bear'. Or even a bear for that matter. Although the bear does somewhat make sense, all things considered. Another great slogan is 'See the moose?'. That's for Leaf Beer. (Made with real leaves!)
I know that this quote is far outdated, but it was an extreme oversight on my
part that it hadn't been posted earlier. Who could forget the A&W root bear, let alone his theme? I've got that song stuck in my head all the time! And you know what? Their slogan and its inferance are correct! They imply that it is hard to see the Bear, and that's true! In day to day life, I don't think I've ever seen a big fuzzy bear wearing all orange clothing and playing a repetitive tune on the tuba. But he must be around somewhere. The way I remember it, the 'see the bear' commercials were also great, 'cause the bear would pop out of hiding places and give people A&W stuff. Now that's catchy. See, that's why I want to see the bear; so he can give me free food. And don't get me started on the bear's bright orange clothes. Let's just say that somehow, they're pretty good camoflouge.
