I love it when a plan comes together!

I believe I mentioned the fact a few quotes back that I recently had an opportunity to watch an A-Team marathon. It doesn't get much better than that! I believe I have also mentioned, numerous times, my lack of respect for Hannibal Smith, the leader of the A-Team. Confirmation of this can be found on the Titans page. Or more specifically, the Wimps section of the Titans page. Oh, just go and read it. In any case, Mr. T has always been the Power behind the A-Team, and the episodes I saw only confirm that fact. In at least half of them, Hannibal's complicated, non-existant plan involves Mr. T building weapons (often a Play-doh cannon), driving his van and beating guys up. Hannibal himself seems to do very little aside from brag about the plans he has supposedly concocted and look extremely smug. You don't know smug until you see the episode where Hannibal is captured at gunpoint, and acts like it's all a part of his plan. The villains comment that Hannibal made it too easy for them, to which our smug protagonist replies, "Of course I did!". Then, he shoves his unlit cigar back into his mouth. (Note that his cigar is almost never lit. Part of one of his plans, perhaps?) This particular amusing quote is spoken many times by Hannibal, usually when it is extremely inappropriate because a) their plan is falling apart or b) Murdock just got shot. Hannibal's plans also seem to involve a lot of disguises, often with no purpose. My only conclusion is that the A-Team has a costume budget to burn. So sure, Hannibal might as well disguise himself as every bartender he comes across.

Yes, the A-Team is an awesome show. The episodes don't rely on any sort of coherent plot, but rather on massive explosions, action, and vehicles flipping over. All of which result in no real injuries to anyone. The storylines are usually ridiculous, simply because they revolve on these crazy pseudo plans which Hannibal pretends to mastermind. One of my favories is a boxing episode. In order to defeat the bad guy, they must first break his boxer's hand, replace the boxer with Mr. T and then have him beat the tar out of another boxer named Dixie Joe. Which brings me to my main amusement of the episode, that being Dixie Joe. The villain had been trying to convince Mr. T to take a fall in the match. But even if someone tried to lose, they would still likely prevail over Joe. That's because Dixie Joe doesn't even throw a punch for the whole first round. This guy's got to be the worst boxer I've ever seen, even including Union Kane. And that's saying alot. I believe Joe throws perhaps one punch in the second round, but it's a weak and pathetic attempt. Even assuming you were trying to take a fall to him, the only way to do so would be just to collapse at the beginning of the match. Because he would certainly never punch you down. And against Mr. T, he didn't stand a chance. That episode was gold, just like the whole marathon.
