Anyway, Kamus is an excellent chef who always uses spices. At one point he was known as the 'King of Spices' because he threw chili pepper in an angry barbarian's face, thus turning him into a FURIOUS barbarian. Kamus also believes oregano should be used in everything, whatever the dish. In one adventure, Kamus purchased some healing potions. Using his cooking skills to analyse the brew, he discovered that the primary ingredient was oregano. Now, whenever someone is wounded, a pinch of oregano is often thrown on these wounds. Of course, this does have a negative side effect. Side effects include inciting hungry cannibals to eat you, because of the appetizing oregano smell. Yes, this did actually happen once. Kamus himself is also a strange cross between spanish and french. He wears a large cape that looks like the french flag. Whenever he approaches an area, people automatically assume the french are invading. He was loosely modeled off Raoul from Johnny Bravo, a wealthy South American tire magnate. Anyway, if you want to hear all of Kamus' catch phrases, you can listen up here. The final phrase used there is Kamus' favorite insult. Any psychological scarring caused by it is strictly coincidental.
Back in medieval days, medicine as a science was very crude. There were several practices used which often caused more harm than the ailments to be cured in the first place. A good example of this was bleeding. Basically, a physician's role was to tell people they needed to bleed. If you came in with a huge gash across the chest and some serious blood loss, they would try to cure you by taking more of your blood. Naturally, medicine has improved a lot since then. But how did it make such a gigantic leap? How are doctors now able to perform amazing feats to save people's lives? The answer is the miracle cure, known only as the spice oregano. Well, actually, validity of that whole upper portion of this is still in question. This oregano business has probably been covered up by the Government. But in any case, this quote actually came from our roleplaying game. My character is a french chef fencer named Kamus Pachan, son of the famous chef Andre Pachan. (Of course, Andre is a real jerk, but that's not important right now...)
