As you have hopefully guessed by this point, this quote is focused on Freddie of Scooby-Doo fame. My inspiration came from the recent Scooby movie I saw, which involved Zombie Island or something like that. It's actually a fairly new movie, and featured some amusing comments about the series at large. Of course, some aspects of it did annoy me. Such as the fact that the 'ghosts' were real; the monsters are never real in Scooby-Doo! Fortunately, they poked fun at that during the movie. Freddie kept insisting that the ghosts were fake, and when he found out about the legend of the pirate treasure buried on the Island, he proposed that the 'ghosts' were trying to steal the treasure. He also suggested, with this week's quote, that there might be oil under the island and the criminals were trying to scare people away so they could harness it. Doubtless these criminals were working for Megatron or George W. Bush (or both!) but that's beside the point. The point being that the oil scheme was often the plot to the old episodes! I have seen many of them which use that exact story line. There were a few other good moments, such as when Shaggy decided to change before dinner and whipped out a suitcase full of identical green shirts and red pants.
To hear more about Freddie and his gang, you can read another section of this site. Why don't you explore it, gang?
Beware the one known only as Argonaut Boy. He is rumoured to be the bane of cut-throat oil drilling companies everywhere. He also goes occaisonally by the name of Fred or Freddie. He can easily be identified by his constant outfit, which is shown on the picture and consists of a distinctly tasteless orange bandana around his neck. His dangerous abilities include a decent physical condition and a penchant for splitting his forces. He can be counted on to always split up in any situation, and call everyone 'gang' many times in the process. He also doesn't believe in ghosts, knowing most of them to be merely criminals wearing masks intended to scare everyone away from rich oil patches, for the aforementioned oil companies. His hobbies include driving a psychadelic van, exploring and trying new things. Despite this last stated hobby, he still does exactly the same thing every episode. His usual actions include driving, suggesting split-ups, hanging out with Daphne, never actually being where the action is, and catching people when they leap up in terror. Oh yes, he also usually unjustly claims great credit for any successful results. Argonaut boy is a real menace and a man to make all oil-tycoons cringe in terror.
