Brains! That's what counts!

I was bound to go back to using Birdman quotes eventually, and now the cycle is complete. This quote comes from the late Dr. Kirov, one of the more pathetic villains in this series. Then again, since they're all so pathetic, it's really hard to compare them. Kirov was a mad scientist who had invented an Earthquake machine and a bunch of useless metal men. He was also, as the picture demonstrates, some weird sort of freaky alien guy. There was no explaination as to why he was apparently not human, but I guess that wasn't the point. The point was that Kirov wanted to shake up the world from his volcano fortress with the aforementioned earthquake machine. He felt that this would cause all the world leaders to pay him big bucks, rather than just bomb the hell out of his paper-thin volcano fortress. And yes, it was paper-thin. Kirov fires a lazer right through the side of the mountain, and we can see that it is only a couple centimeters thick. What a star. His base is also apparently quite easy to find. All they needed to do was find the centers of the earthquakes, and voila. Apparently that isn't very hard, even for a brainless super-hero named Birdman.

Of course, Birdman is sent in to deal with this menace. After destroying a few of the useless metal men, he engages in a lengthy conversation with Kirov through an intercom. Eventually, Birdman pretends to join Kirov to get inside the fortress (even though he could easily blast his way in OR go through the huge airvent), where his solar powers will be useless. Before entering, he tells Avenger that he is only bluffing to get inside, while within Kirov's earshot. Birdman isn't even suspicious when he steps into an elevator that looks mysteriously like a cage. He finally begins to suspect something is amiss when the walls of the cage start closing on him, and Kirov uses this week's quotes. However, as far as I can see, no one in the entire episode possesses any brains at all, with the possible exception of Birdman's pet eagle, who saves him from this insidious trap.
