The A-Team Boardgame

Yes, I am aware that it has been a long time since Mr. T has really been featured on a new section of this site. I'm sure that if he knew about it, he wouldn't be pleased. That was one of the things I had in mind for this quote. The other factor, and my main inspiration, was the A-Team boardgame I recently received from some friends. (A very kind gesture, by the way.) I wasn't even aware that there was an A-Team boardgame, but now I know differently. Apparently it cost like 4$ at Value Village. I'll have to go there more often. This game is quite awesome, although the name is inaccurate. It should probably be called the 'Mr.T boardgame', or possibly the 'B.A. boardgame.' (For those who don't know, B.A. was Mr. T's character on the A-Team.) The box has a big drawing of Mr. T on it and mentions that there is a large color photo of B.A. inside. This, I must note, was gone from our version. Doubtless too valuable to sell back to Value Village.

But on to the game itself. You each take the role of a member of the A-Team (except Mr.T, who has already gone ahead to 'smooth the way' for you) and you must infiltrate an island fortress to find a top secret formula. Beware! There are guards, secret weapons labs and narrow hallways which must be surpassed! As well as that, you are apparently not a team in this game, as each player attempts to screw the others up as much as possible. B.A. is clearly the most important thing in the game. Every third space or so is one of his, in which he either smooths the way (lets you roll again) or gives you a shove (moves you forward a certain number of spaces). By going from B.A. space to B.A. space you could quite possibly win the game in one turn. Another great card is the one which makes your opponent lose a turn because they are temporarily sidetracked. This is especially humorous if they are fighting a guard at the time. They must get distracted by an untied shoelace or something while the guard beats on them mercilessly. What a great game.
